Vaadin Framework 8.0 is out with easier API and better performance
The first major Framework release in a year, the long awaited version 8, is now out. The new version comes with a re-written data binding API and improved performance. Even though there are some "breaking changes" in a major release, upgrading is really easy, thanks to the compatibility package.
Following the major release of Vaadin 8, we are touring the world! During the spring of 2017, we are visiting many Java and Vaadin user groups, so that you can see what Vaadin 8 is all about and talk with us about the future of Vaadin development. Vaadin Framework 6 is end of life
Vaadin Framework 7 was released in 2013, but there are still a whole lot of even older Vaadin Framework 6 applications doing their job, each and every day. And this is natural for Vaadin applications – they are expected to run for many many years. While we always promise 5 years of free support for all major versions, Vaadin 6 saw 8 years of free support in total – unheard of for any other open source UI framework. While we still provide commercial support for all previous Vaadin versions for our customers, it might be good to consider upgrading now that Vaadin Framework 8 is out in order to stay future proof for new coming features.
